I have been a member for over twelve years now . Buck’s Fizz members have been a consistent group of supportive and welcoming people who have shared life , experiences and business with each other. It is sad to see mature , experienced members leave but also great to welcome new faces and experience.
I’ve been to a number of different Networking Meetings over the past 12 months and I have to say that out of all of them Bucks Fizz has to be the best one that I’ve been along to. There is a great mix of people with a nice relaxed atmosphere but with that business element as well. If you are looking for a Networking event to attend then this is the once to go for.
We had a great meeting at Bucks Fizz this morning. Our guest speaker was Adam King, Communications Manager for England’s Economic Heartland / East West Main Line Partnership. He described some of the decisions behind the East West Rail project relative to the transport objectives for the area. It was interesting to hear that the area covered by England’s Economic Heartland (roughly Swindon to Cambridge) represents a world-leading economy. It also includes two of the world’s leading universities (Oxford and Cambridge) plus Cranfield and the Open University, which are also leading institutions within their specialist areas. The East West Rail project looks to improve transport across the region to promote and support the economic growth of the area.
We were pleased to welcome two visitor to the meeting: kitchen designer and supplier Simon and cyber security expert Ray. We hope to see them both again soon.
Although I am missing the face to face meetings, and the chat over breakfast, I still find I get so much from our virtual meetings. This morning Fiona Storey gave a really interesting presentation on websites. It’s just the right time to take the time to review our websites and social media.
At Bucks Fizz it’s not just about early morning meetings. Last month we enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Chafor Wine Estate in Gawcott. Tim and family not only gave us a very interesting insight into the vineyard, we all enjoyed delicious homemade pizzas and of course a selection of beautiful wines. Spending social time with other members is good fun and adds to the mutual feeling of support we share.
Bucks Fizz is a little less formal than some other networking meetings, but is still efficient way of networking. Although we still use traditional stand up and tell everyone about yourself sessions and have guest speakers, it takes place in a relaxed and very friendly environment.
